<< The reason that I am writing today, is because I have been having alot of
trouble with my legs. I have constant pain, and sometimes I cannot use them.
This past weekend I had the first signs of this icy cold feeling in my legs.
They ached so bad, that It brought tears to my eyes.
I have constant pain, but I do want you all to know, last year at this same
time, I was paralized from the waist down, so it is possible to get back what
was lost. It is possible. If anyone has heard anything about these issues
of blood clots, or suffers any of the symptoms that I have, could you please
let me know. If this could be related to something else, I would like to
know.

Hi Jenny! τΏτ
Well, I too have the same symptoms that you describe....Just the last few days
in fact!!!! And at various times, because of this enormous pain, I am unable
to use my legs. I have been checked for blood clots in my legs, I believe, 3
[maybe more] times... My cardiologist watches this very closely, as I have a
serious heart condition...No clots to speak of yet... I tend to be a bit of a
bleeder... so clotting does not really seem to be my problem.... But, they
like to check anyway...Additionally, like yourself, I was also paralyzed from
the waist down... (T-10 -- 6 times) My left side is the weakest....Like many
others.... (Hmmmm...Wonder why the left side? I am right-handed.. maybe that
is it...)
Sometimes my legs ache so badly at night... I sit on the bathroom floor in a
ball and cry....The floor is cold to the touch and believe it or not... it
seems to relieve some of the pain....(along with strong anti-inflammatories
and tons of Tylenol... I live on 8-12 Extra Strength Tylenol a day...) Try
sitting on cold floor tile...It might help...Cold reduces inflammation...It
works for baseball pitchers... and it seems to work for me...
The pain that I experience has been going on for years... The docs believe the
pain might be caused by a number of things... Either, one--some--or all of the
following seem to make my legs ACHE (equal to bad labor pains-- except this is
CONSTANT! I was in labor 40 hours with my son...I know BAD
labor!)....fibromyalgia/ vasculitis/ muscle overexertion-fatigue / bad CNS
messages-twitches / lupus flareups /cold conditions-climate... I hope I didn't
miss anything... Sometimes it is just one or two things, at times tho, they
all have been known to hit at once. However, the docs don't know how to
stop/intercept the muscle pain... So, I've learned to live with it.
Unfortunately, I also have really bad arthritis in my hips and knees, so when
the arthritis is really bad, and the "muscle ache from hell arrives..." I
have to 'mentally' take myself to Hawaii....and pray for relief... The pain
seems to last forever...even with my daily tylenol ritual... But, I always try
to keep an upbeat spirit.... Surprisingly, this makes me stay above it....
But, when it is absolutely intolerable...I take strong, strong pain
relievers...and hope for sleep and a comfortable/tolerable position....
Keep your chin up during these times...I know this can be really tough to
endure...
Hang in there.... HUGS to you... and your little painful legs!!! τΏτ
