At least the first two weeks of school were always so busy
with more to do than usual while I was helping the children
learn my routine/expectations that I was not good for anything
else, i.e. fixing dinner, laundry or other family responsibilities.
I say this because I was a healthy woman--no disability to man-
age around or no problems with fatigue on a daily basis, etc.
You are on overload at this point and need to be very careful not
to overdo!! No one can expect you to do it all!! especially at the
very beginning of school year.
You were faced with two frustrations in as many days and they
both pointed out your disability to you which you didn't need on
top of usual start of the year stress.
You are going to need to prioritize the demands on you and let
others take some of the responsibility off your shoulders. Your
health must come first--and you are the only one who knows what
level of stress is too much, so you are the one who must say when
you are at your limit.
I admire you for being able to go back to the classroom, as I told you
before, I could not handle it. Just remember that you must think of
yourself as well as your kids if you are to be able to continue to teach.
Frustrations hit everyone, they just are worse when we are stressed--
whether it is mentally or physically--and with tm, we have both to deal
with.
I hope that the first of the year settling in gets over quickly for you and
after that period you will not be quite so stressed. I'm pulling for you!!
