In brief, I woke up one morning with numbness and tingling in both my legs and
left side of my body. However, there was no pain. When I proceeded to get
out of bed, I fell right to the floor...paralyzed. I was scared to death!
Over a weeks time I proceeded to walk around holding on to things (I am a very
determined person).
I saw a nuerologists and have had three MRI's which showed nothing. He
thought it was MS. After some time (about 2 months) I was diagnosed with TM.
Although the weekness in my limbs is getting better, there is still the
numbness and tingling and tightness around my trunk. (I feel as if a girdle
has been strapped around me that I just can't remove.) How long does it take
for these symptoms to go away?
My Dr. has started me on steroids as treatment. Has anyone else had this?
Solu-medrol by IV for three days, following with prednisone and gradually
decreasing the dose. I thought I would feel a significant change after the
IV, but not so. Has anyone else been given this treatment? How long does it
take?
I have browsed many web sites on TM which say that treatment may take up to
three months. But by reading the postings here, it seems like alot longer. I
have been off of work for 3 months now, and don't see much chance of getting
back until I have regained feeling and coordination in my legs.
I am looking forward to any information or help I can get. It's nice to know
I'm not alone.
