Hello Friends!
Well I feel like I have "arrived" - I've just moved up from my old
clunky "Corvair" aka "Bec" to a "Cadillac" a brand new P190 Quickie - I
just love it! (Some of you young'ens probably don't even know what a
"Corvair" is - but us old timers do!)
I wanted to thank you all again for the advice you shared on your
experiences with chairs - I steered clear of unknowns and E & J's. I
talked at length to the supplier and told them I either wanted and
Invacare or Quickie and asked, from a repair standpoint which was they
felt was the better chair - they told me they were both the great
chairs, but they had a few more Invacare's in for repair (something
about leaky gear boxes?) (still minor problems) than they did Quickie's
- so I opted for the Quickie. Martin, if your still out there, I took
your advise and had them "build" the chair to fit me. They measured and
gave me what they called the "perfect" fit, but the back rest hit me
right at my level of injury (even on the lowest setting) which is not
comfortable for me so I told them - I needed a lower back rest, so
they've ordered one for me. If you hadn't said what you did I probably
would have just accepted what they said as being a good fit. Thanks
again to all - you offered invaluable advice and I'm a happy camper!
