Paula ~
I agree with Jan!!
I am also on Neurontin for the burning sensations...and it really
helps!!!

As for the morphine.... is she taking any pain medications at all? I
think her doctor shoud try something a little less "strong" before he
goes to morphine!! I take Percocet or Tylox... he should try those
first!!

St. John's Wort is an excellent idea for her depression. I don't need
it but I know of a lot of people that it has helped immensely.
And it doesn't interfere with other meds.

If your friend cannot afford a computer perhaps she could check into
getting a Web T.V. I don't know SQUAT about computers...but I love my
Web T.V.
The cost is minimal ( $100. - 300.). It has a wireless keyboard.
Oh...the cost for their monthly subscription service is $20.
She could then become a part of this great group and receive TONS of
support !!
Oh...if she's interested in purchasing a webtv, have her call Montgomery
Ward, JC Penney or if there's one in your area, Penney's Outlet Store.

The best of luck to your friend.
~ Lynn ~

Paula,

For the burning sensation in the legs I am now
on Neurontin which my neuro said was the least
of the meds. I know many on here are on Baclofen
or have a Baclofen pump. I would hope that her dr
would try these meds before he did something more
to her nerves.

I had to self-cath in the beginning but not in last 18
months and I don't think I could remember how to ex-
plain or give her any help.

It is too bad that she doesn't have a computer. I think
the support of this group would help her with her depression.
Also, my dr let me use St. John's Wort to fight the down and
out feelings rather than another med. I think it has helped.

I hope that someone here knows where she can get help in her
area. You are special to be her friend!
JanH
