Hi David ~
I was still paralyzed when I first took the Cascara Sagrada.
I'm glad to see that you are going to try this product. I only hope it
works for you as well as it worked for me!!! Please let us know!!!
By the way, what on earth is "botulinum toxin"?????? It sure doesn't
sound like anything I would want to try.

Karen,
I know how you feel and only hope that some good solutions
emerge from our fellow tmers.
B.M's have been a constant problem for me since day one of tm. I have tried
all forms of laxatives, suppositories, herbal teas digital stimulation etc.
Although I have no sensation , time spent on the john has always been
painful with pain lasting into the next day. My gastroenterologist thinks
that pains are due to colon spasms somehow sending pain messages to the
brain. He wants to try stopping the spasms with botulinum toxin. Has anyone
tried this treatment? At present all I want to get on and off the seat as
soon as possible. The best I have been able to do to date is to take 2
tablespoons of Phillip's milk of magnesia ( the pink cherry- flavored kind
with a lubricant) at bedtime followed immediately by 2 six ounce glasses of
water. Next morning I insert a Magic Bullet suppository (every bit as
powerful as its name suggests) and get complete elimination in 15 to 20
minutes. I do this every other day and have not had an accident , which in
the past has always been a concern. My backside still hurts like hell but
spending a short time on the john is good for the soul. I bet you never
heard that one on Sunday !

I doubt that my procedure will be of use or much interest to tmer's with
sensation. However it may be useful to those of us with a paralytic ileus.
I do not think that I have reached the optimum solution so please keep your
versions coming. Right now I am off to buy some Cascara Sagrada. Will let
you know how it turns out.

David
