I'm Back!

Hi Folks
I'm back for a week and will be gone again next Tuesday. The trip to Iowa
was pretty good. The kids were pretty well-behaved until about the last 2
hours of each day we were driving. I guess they're just getting too cooped
up in the car. No major problems except the van's windshield has a crack
from an "unidentified object" as a semi was passing us up. Oh well, I
guess that is what insurance is for. I'll have to call them tomorrow and
find out what to do.

As far as the physical driving itself, it went pretty well. Most of the
time I had the cruise control on and was stretching my legs a little and
kept massaging the knee area. When I was driving without the cruise, my
upper leg was getting a little sore. I thought maybe the lower leg (calf)
area would be the one that would get tired more. The pain on my upper back
acted up a little on the way to Iowa, but got worse as we headed home. I
may have to go to the physical medicine doc and get some of those shots
again before the trip to Germany next week. I believe my friends from
Germany has scheduled an appointment for me to see a specialist there to
look at my case. They sent an e-mail indicating to bring all the medical
records that I can get my hands on and the MRIs/X-rays/CTs. I hope they
can help me in some way. The left leg has really been bothering me lately
too. Many times I almost would lose my footing and probably would have
fallen if I wasn't using the cane. It is almost like the muscles around my
knee turns off and I can't stand on the leg. I haven't called my doctor
about the MRIs from last week. I'll keep you all posted on this. When I
was at our family reunion in Iowa, I found out that one of my
second-cousin's husband was diagnosed with MS last year and is really
depressed about it. She said he just doesn't want to do anything anymore.
He just wants to hang around the house and gets upset a lot about little
things. She said he used to farm corn and took care of cattle and pigs and
after his MS, they had to sell the farm and the animals because she
couldn't take care of all of it. That is when he got really bad as far as
depression. Is there an MS association or support group on the internet
that anybody knows about? Please let me know.

That's all for now. Gotta get stuff out of the dryer and get another load
in before I turn in. This traveling business is hard after getting home.
Hopefully, the next one to Germany will be the last time we travel until
next year.

Later folks!
God Bless.
Cherry

PS-
Lynn- thanks for the info about the sunscreen. I will definitely pass on
the information to everyone I know. Also, the other message about "finding
my baby" kind of scared me a little. I thought one of your relatives was
kidnapped or something. Glad to know it was just a piece of music.
Sandy-isn't it nice to nap while getting tests done on us? No kids
screaming and fighting in the background. :-)
