I have not fallen the end of the earth, although I have been lurking a bit.
Actually I have spent six of the last eight weeks in the hospital. Six of
them were with a rare auto immune ( does this sound familiar) disorder
called sympathotonic orthostatic hypotension, which means my blood pressure
went so low that I could not sit up let alone stand or walk. While I was
being worked out for that, it was found that I had a C3-C4 subluxation, so I
had a fusion with a titanium plate and screws. Now I am languishing at home
in a Philadelphia collar and recovering in the little decrease in function
that happened postop. The low blood pressure seemed to have been triggered
by my fourth and rounds of cytoxin, so there will be no more of that. A
mixed blessing, because it really had helped my function. For those of you
can sit considering cytoxin, don't let this scare you off: as far as I know,
it's never been reported before. The cytoxin did make great improvement in
my function, and I would do it again, it were not for this. Now it looks as
if we're considering IVIG: I'll know more after the doctors appointment this
afternoon.
Keep smiling all!
Sam
