<< On a TNT broadcast monday night, Monday NITRO wrestling, watched by many
millions (believe it or not, it's TNT's most watched show), the wrestler
Hollywood Hogan proclaimed, and I quote, "The only thing I hate worse
than cowards are cripples."
It is tempting to dismiss Mr. Hogan's words as coming from a steroidal
moron, and that they were part of his "act.'
Unfortunately, Mr. Hogan is idolized by millions of young persons. His
words were said with angry passionate conviction, and no one watching,
(I've seen the video clip) could doubt his sincerity. I'm convinced his
young fans will take his words as heartfelt, and coming from their hero,
as rightful in their hatred for those of us who he brands with the
hateful epithet cripple.
I realize that giving Mr. Hogan and TNT free publicity is no doubt
exactly what they want, but I am angry, and concerned, and feel that
some response should be voiced by the disabled community.
Surely Mr. Turner's wife would be an ally against this hate spewed forth
under her husband's tacit sponsorship.
I ask your help in addressing this issue.
Sincerely,

Hi Bob and thanks for passing info to us,especially this one. This statement
by the "Hulkster" ,providing it is legit and not taken out of context, really
upsets me.
I wonder how Hogan would feel to get soundly thrashed by a "cr----le" and as
far as Ms. Jane Turner goes, I don't and never will want a thing from her.
Sorry everybody,I'm a little upset!
best regards,
Phil
