Hi,
My grandson, age 15 became ill with Acute Transverse Myelitis in Jan. 1998
After a few weeks he began to feel movement in his legs and thighs. Little by
little he began to move his legs. He walks with a walker aaand arm crutches
and also with the aid of body braces. He has began to take a few steps with
the aid of his therapist and attentendent without the aid of his braces. It
his now six months and I am very discouraged.

No one has interest in the physcially handicapped. One of our local
newspapers who I wrote to requested a story aand had a reporter interview my
grandson at my house and then a phtographer at his physcially therapy.
When the article appeared it had very little to do about Eric and his
consition and needs. In fact there wasn't even his picture. The publisher or
editor gave no explanation.

I also find it difficult fooor him to find anyone woh has a similar issiablity
in our area.

But the main worry is if there are chances of his walking ever again.

thank you. Lillian Katz concerened Grandmother I am with him everyday
