I was going to bring up the 4 F's, too, because that's what I read when I had
my gall bladder out 13 years ago, 11 years pre-TM. My first son was 9 months
old and I was also told it had to do with your internal organs being squished
with the baby in there (this particular baby was 9 lbs. 7 oz., so he took up a
lot of room :-)) But I'm sure there are other contributing factors: I believe
I also read it is more prevalent in areas with high minerals deposits in the
water. My main symptom was what I thought was excrutiating heartburn just
below my breastbone. When the dr. first mentioned gall bladder, and I read
where the gall bladder was, I thought, "Nah, that's nowhere near my gall
bladder." But that was it; a gall stone was stuck in the tube (forget what
it's called now) between the gall bladder and esophagus and probably would've
created an emergency if I'd waited, plus the gall bladder had other stones in
it. Avoiding fatty or spicy food helped in the mean time, but I think the
surgery would've had to have been done anyway. I don't think the gall bladder
surgery had anything to do with TM, but I think there may be some concern
about having surgery after TM. Since our bodies react to stress and surgery
involves some degree of stress to the body, I'd definately ask the drs.
involved about it.
