I appreciate them all. I have some questions and was wondering if
anyone here could help.
1. Have any of you ever had the IV salumedrol treatment? If so, have
any of you ever had any serious problems with it? My first treatment I
experience what appeared to be an allergic reaction--rash, itching,
sweating, nausea and, the doctor later told me, a seizure (I was out
completely for about 15 minutes and then in and out of it for several
hours after that). As this type of reaction "isn't supposed to happen"
they tried again the next day, and I had the same reaction, but not as
severe, and without a seizure (they gave me medication to prevent
reaction). I've asked numerous people who have had this treatment and
none report such an experience and I'm just really curious.

2. Does TM ever just go away?? Or is it more typical that the symptoms
wax and wane, but never fully disappear? My symptoms always get more
intense the more active I get--how are you supposed to exercise if this
always happens?
I agree with Barbara. I havn't heard any cases where tm completely went
away. Exercise in moderation and add more as you can. Get lots of rest
inbetween..

Does anyone know the statistic for TM eventually developing into
multiple scelrosis? My understanding of MS is that it requires two or
more lesions in the brain and/or spine, or two or more exacerbations,
seperated by a month or more? My neurologist told me that I've got the
TM diagnosis because I've only got the one lesion now and this is my
first exacerbation, but if I were to develop additional lesions, or have
an exacerbation after a remission, I would have MS...is this what you
guys have been told??
Studies show a wide gap, but 35% to 80% of tm patients go on to Ms
diagnosis.
4. Finally (sorry this is so long, but I've got so many questions),
I'll be moving to the Washington DC area in early August and was
wondering if anyone knew the name of a good doctor.
Good luck.
Thanks for your time and information.
