I just read an excellent book about a dr. who was in an accident (struck by a
car while bike riding) and suffered head injury. One of her main symptoms was
memory problems. She would forget even common every day things, like looking
in the mirror to check her appearance before going out (she would forget to
comb her hair after a shower and go out that way) or how to get to the store
or what to get when she got there. She had to develope a number of memory
aids. The book is Over My Head: A Doctor's
Account of Head Injury from the inside Looking Out by Claudia L. Osborn. Even
though, for most of us, memory problems aren't that severe, some of her
strageies would be helpful.
