Mild TM

To Rose M. Ferrin-
I, too, have a mild (probably milder than yours) case of TM. I was never
really hospitalized for the TM like most of the people on the list. I've
never had the bowel and urinary problems like everyone. The main problem I
have is the numbness and that I have problem with my right leg. I can't
control my leg as well as the other - except until today. I woke up this
morning, got out of bed and my left leg (the good one) gave way, buckled
however you say it, and I ended up landing my bottom on my left foot. It
wasn't fun at all! I had a hard time picking myself up and all I could do
was pull my foot off my bottom so I wasn't sitting on it. I had to get on
all fours to finally get up using the bed and dresser as support. I don't
have another adult living with me, so I had to struggle on my own. Then I
was dizzy and shaky - I guess I just got scared or something. But then it
went away after a few minutes. Now, I'm very careful when I put my weight
on my left leg. Went to my Family doctor and she's ordered MRI on my
brain, C-spine and T-spine. She didn't order the L-spine which is what the
original diagnosis was. Strange. Oh well, I'll go to do the MRI Tuesday
on the spines and am also going in Monday for MRI of my neck/throat. This
leads me to another TMIC-list question to anyone out there.

I have been having problems swallowing lately - even liquids. I feel like
my throat has gotten smaller to where whatever I'm swallowing feels like it
is going to get stuck. Has this ever happened to anyone else? My doc
looked at me today and said that from what she can see, everything is ok.
That's why she ordered that MRI/x-ray of the throat (I have to swallow
Barium while they are doing this). I'm really looking forward to this!
Yuck!

Well, Rose, welcome to the list. Hope we can help each other through our
experiences. There's a lot of knowledgeable people on the list and I'm
sure they can give you some assistance.

God bless,
Cherry
