today that Pasko Rakic, a leader in the field of neurological disease, has
been appointed to its Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Rakic is Chairman,
Section of Neurobiology and Neuroanatomy, and Professor of Neurobiology and
Neurology, Yale University School of Medicine. Prior to Yale, where he has
been affiliated with the medical school since 1977, Dr. Rakic was an Associate
Professor of Neuropathology at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Rakic is the recipient of many awards and honors, and has been a member of
such prestigious societies as the National Academy of Sciences since 1985, and
the American Academy of Arts and Sciences since 1994. In addition, he has
also served in many leadership roles, including as President of the Society
for Neuroscience from 1995 to 1996.
