Personally I am thrilled to see that Casey Martin is doing
so great these days, and I whole heartedly supported his
cause. On your comment that "he could have used a manual
wheelchair" ..... it is quite obvious that you have never
pushed a chair around a gold course. Pushing on a soft
surface like grass is impossible unless it is completely
flat, and if it could even be done he would be too exhausted
to play golf. If your idea is that he should have someone
push him around, we've all together left the discussion of
"independence and equal opportunity for people with
disabilities", and that is what the Martin case is all
about.
