Maureen,
I would like to share my thoughts about exercise. After the initial onset of
TM I was not paralyzed but my gait made me walk like a tin soldier. This
lasted and did get worse for about 1 1/2 months. I had finally gotten sick
of
not being able to walk properly and decided to start slowly again. As I am a
walker and very active, I needed it, I thought to build up strength and to
clear my head. I walk almost everyday. Sometimes farther than others, but I
have a good gait now and contribute this to the exercise. I also started
using my Fitness Flyer and that has helped too.
I started out not being able to go for more that 2-3 minutes, but am up to 10
without excruciating pain. Yes, I am sore and the banding in my arms is
there, but I believe it has helped me with the gait. Just start a little at
a
time.
Good luck & best wishes,
Maria
