I went to my Family Physician today for a rash on my rump. Not sure what
caused it, but I have a feeling it's this Vitamin B complex that I started
taking. I had the same kind of flare up when I had the meningitis. (I
guess my memory is going too. :-) While I was there, I was telling her
about the information I got from you guys as far as symptoms and what
happened and she agrees with me that we need to look further into my case.
She is calling her parents who are also doctors in Houston to see about
getting a name of a specialist if not in the Dallas area, possibly in
Houston. Maybe I'll get to meet RHookCook in person one of these days.
She will also try to call some people in Baylor Hospital here to find out
if someone is researching in this field. So, I guess I have some sort of a
good news.
I rode my stationary bike today and yesterday and my legs are kind of sore
today. I guess I used it longer than I should have. I'm also trying hard
to walk as normal as I can. I usually march when I walk. Now, I'm trying
to keep my feet on the ground a little bit longer before I pick it up for
the next step. I guess I'm doing something because the muscles on the back
of my leg is a little sore. Maybe that muscle group is finally "waking
up". Hopefully, this will get my leg working better soon.
On the other side of the story, my mom has all these "home remedies" that
they use in the Philippines quite a bit. Not sure if it really has any
medicinal effect, but when she was visiting, she got some pure coconut oil
(I mean, she grated the coconut out of the shell, squeezed the milk out of
it, and cooked it until it became oil), then she cut some fresh ginger and
used it to massage my legs. She's not the best masseuse, but I guess it
didn't hurt anything. It seemed to help a little. I'm sure if it got
done everyday for a long period of time, it may have some good effects on
it. Of course, I smelled like I just came out of a Chinese Restaurant
kitchen. LOL! We did it when I got ready for bed so I didn't have to smell
bad around other people.
Pat Norling- I'll put a special prayer for you for a good result on the
procedure the doctors are going to do for your aneurisms. I hope they fix
it right.
Lynn Rose- the doctor told me today that my tiredness may be due to the
fact that I am having problems with ear infections. I thought this was a
child's illness. I guess anyone can get it. I knew I should have gotten
rid of those milk bottles during bed time a long time ago! Glad you had a
good laugh at my doofusness!
Sharon M. - the neuro ruled out MS on my case since the myelogram, MRI and
CT's and blood work didn't indicate it. I guess this is why he decided it
was TM. But, like I said, my family doctor is helping me look for a
specialist in this field.
Patti - I say forget about that particular dealer. Go somewhere else who
will take your money.
Bob Cook - Thanks for the info. I'll pass it along to my doctors (whoever
they may be) including my family physician. You seem to have a lot of info
on this TM. Do you read a lot of stuff? Where do you find all the stuff?
The symptoms have been the same for about the last 6 months or so. Not
much has changed, but I'll keep you posted. I'll call you one of these
days. Kinda busy with kids' activities this week plus an out of town
friend coming to visit.
Vicki - I've heard that military doctors are not exactly the best there is.
As a child, we lived in the Philippines just outside of the Subic Naval
Base, so when we got sick, my mom would take me to the base hospital. I
was having a lot of headaches, pain on my stomach and dizziness. The
doctor gave my mom a bottle of aspirin. Told her it was just a headache of
some sort. She got mad and went to a local doctor and told her that I was
just on my way to becoming a "woman." Sorry to hear that your 17+ years of
military career was ruined. Were you ever in the Philippines?
Is this too long of a posting? Does "nbsp" mean, no b.s. postings? I'm
not sure either.
I promise it won't be too long next time. I'm just excited to be able to
communicate with other people with my same situations.
God bless everyone!
