Alton, JanH here. I can tell from your letter that
you know the value of humor in helping us cope
with tm or whatever else ails us. By the way, you
were talking to a bunch of tmers so we understand!
I could visualize your progress and enjoyed it very
much. At 59 I can only add that whoever said you
couldn't teach old dogs new (or ones we used to
know) tricks. The only part of tm that I missed in your
nutshell was the loss of memory--slow processing of
names and other things that once were readily available.
Course it does help as others of my age can't recall as
readily as years past and they can't blame it on brain
damage like I do! (LOL!)
Thank the good Lord for helpful mates--I think you are
right, they have suffered as much or more than we have.
Welcome aboard this list--sorry you had to have tm to get
to know us, but you'll find that as a support group you can't
find a finer group of folks! Keep us informed as to your pro-
gress, any questions you may have. I've been a tmer since
April 26, 1996 and I find I still have questions or fears that I
can share with this group and they understand! and help!
Glad to have your upbeat voice among us--JanH
