Hello everyone,

I wanted to share this bit of information with you, and a couple of contacts
that may help anyone who is interested in lobbying to establish a fund for
SCI research through speeding fine/levy type programs.

Many of the major SCI private fundraising organisations recently met to
establish an affiliation where we can share information and resources about
these sort of initiatives and other fundraising ideas. The affiliates are;
American Paralysis Assoc., Miami Project, Paralysed Veterans of America,
Kent Waldrep National Paralysis Foundation, Rick Hansen Institute (Canada),
International Spinal research Trust (Europe), Australasian Spinal Research
Trust (Australia), Christopher Reeve Foundation.

Lisa Hudgins at the PVA (lisah(AT)pva.org) and Nancy Thompson at Rick Hansen
Institute (NThompso(AT)rick-hansen.ubc.ca) have both been involved in a number
of neurotrauma initiatives and may be able to support you with information
and contacts in the USA and Canada. Outside these areas you may want to
contact me in the first instance and can do so at david_prast(AT)bigpond.com

Hope this information is useful, all the best
david.
