I would say that you are making progress and with
a positive attitude you may continue. It does take
alot of work, exercise, and support of those around
you. I'd also suggest you learn to laugh at yourself--
you're going to have some hard times ahead and if
you laugh at your failures rather than cry, it'll be easier
to try again.
About the frequency and retention, those are slower to
improve. My urologist has seen me more than any other
of my docs. Retention may mean you need to self-cath
until you no longer have that problem--it's the only way I
was told that I could avoid infections or later troubles with
my kidneys.
Don't feel bad about asking questions of any of us--we've all
been where you are and some of us didn't have access to
this group and knew no one who could answer our questions.
We are glad to be here for you now. My docs were on top of
this tm diagnosis and started my treatments immediately and
still they could not answer some of my fears etc. because they
hadn't been there themselves.
Keep up the good work. Don't expect everything to return too
rapidly--small improvements may be followed by back-sliding
but don't let yourself become discouraged. Know that we are all
pulling for you!! Sincerely, JanH
