When I was diagnosed with MS three weeks ago my neuro asked me if I wanted to
go on Avonex and I said NO!
A friend of mine who has MS has taken it for a year. After her weekly shot she
has two to three days of intense flu like symptoms. After the friday shot she
is miserable all weekend. She is going to have to stop taking it soon because
it is hurting het liver.
My neuro told me that while they "think" Avonex can slow down the progression
of MS they have no proof since everyone is different. She said she thinks the
side effcts are shit and since I have remitting/relapsing MS she pointed out
that when I do feel well I would still feel sick from the drug. . . kinda
yucky.
I would say to use your intuition and do what it tells you to do. Or try it
and if you don't get sick from it take it.

illnesses with TM.
