Hi friends!
I've been baby-sitting my 15 month old grandson so I haven't been able
to log on for a couple of days - he really keeps me wheeling!
But wanted to share: You can find the pull-ups two places that I know
of. One is MOMS(Mail Order Medical Supplies). You can call for a free
catalog: 1-800-232-7443. Also JC Penney has a Special Needs catalog
which you can get by calling 1-800-222-6161 and just ask for it - both
of these places carry them. I really like them - they offer much more
protection than pads or shields, but are not near a bulky as the
diapers. They have an elastic band that runs clear around, but the
under pad runs from front to back so there's no bulk on your hips. When
I go out for a really long day and don't know about bathroom facilities
- I wear the a pull-up and also put one of the Poise extra absorbent
pads(these pads are amazingly absorbent with very little bulk- and can
be purchased at Walmar) inside the pull-up and that offers really good
protection. Of course, this is for bladder, now if you've got a bowel
problem - no amount of protection will keep that secret - unless your in
a room with people who have no noses! I have my doctor prescribe
Lomotil for me that I take on special occasions when I don't want any
bowel accidents. It's what they prescribe for diarreaha when you drink
the water in Mexico and for people with irritable bowel syndrome - it's
pretty powerful stuff - but you don't want your system to get used to it
or it won't be as effective - but it really halts things.
I also wanted to thank you again, Martin for the info on E & J. I
bought this Bec chair new 7 years ago and have had nothing but trouble
with getting parts and service and I really don't want to take any
chances this time - reliability is ALL IMPORTANT - both the company and
the chair! I will steer clear of E & J!.
Thanks, Bob for sharing your story with us - you inspired me!
Sharon - glad your MRI went well - what do you suppose caused the
breaker to flip - were you wearing metal toed shoes too!
