I feel physical therapy helped me the most. I had a great physical therapist.
I could tell her what I was having trouble with and she'd have particular
exercises for particular problems. There are also a number of different
medications Sumer's neurologist could recommend, depending on what her
symptoms are. Some of them have side effects that you have to weigh against
whatever help they give. My neurologist said there is no medication that will
bring back feeling, but some help with other neurological problems.

My neurologist also said that the best thing I could do was to go on with life
as much as I could. At the time I thought, "Easy for YOU to say." But it is
true that the more my mind is occupied with TM and how I feel, the worse I
feel. Of course, some times symptoms flare up and take center stage of your
thoughts whether you want them to or not. But sometimes it helps just to get
my mind occupied on other things having nothing to do with TM or to go out or
do something that I really don't feel like doing but which I'm glad for
afterwards.
