I have faxed the following letter regarding the Legislative Alert we all
received.

Attn: Bud Shuster

BUILDING EFFICIENT SURFACE TRANSPORTATION AND EQUITY ACT

Please consider not amending the ADA to give Greyhound Bus Lines and
other regional carriers an exemption from complying with the Americans
with Disabilities Act's accessibility statues.

It is imperative to those of us with disabilities to have equal
protection and opportunities under the law. If one business receives an
exception in regard to ADA, I fear it will start a landslide of
businesses attempting the same thing.

According to the Department of Transportation, the requirement to have
wheelchair lifts in all buses by 2012 and new buses received by 1999
would only increase the average ticket by $0.35. I am willing to pay
this amount and I'm sure the American public would be willing also.

Thanks for your consideration.

Sincerely yours,

Stacy A. Firth
