Anti-inflammatory: angelica (may cause a rash in those exposed to sun); black haw; boneset (excellent - I use it all the time); chamomile; chaparral; echinacea (this is an anti-biotic and should only be used for 2 weeks at a time - lots of people take it too much when they get the sniffles - loses its power in the body if used too often); fenugreek (this tastes absolutely NASTY - I can't tolerate it - also women who take the pill or have a history of breast cancer should not take it); gentian; ginger; horsetail; juniper; licorice (most people like the taste - I don't); meadowsweet; St. John's wort; turmeric; vervain.
Herbs work best in combination with other herbs. Tell your friend about these too. I have been around people in the office since I returned to work who have been sick with flu - when they had the flu shots - and I refused to get sick - afraid I'd get TM all over again. Been working on keeping my immune system up, up, up and I believe the herbs and my mental attitude have wor;ked. Here's some your friend may want to check out.
Immune system stimulant: barberry; basil; boneset, chamomile, echinacea, ginger, ginseng; goldenseal (the strongest herbal antibiotic - only use for 2 weeks at a time and then off 2 weeks - this one is very powerful); gotu kola; licorice; marsh mallow; mistletoe; St.John's wort.
'Nuff for now. - Good luck
