The best, best, best therapy I've tried is swimming in warm (92 degree) water.
Unfortunately, this can get to be extremely expensive. When I started with
the therapy I had to be on a one-to-one with the swimming therapist at $142.00
an hour. This, of course, didn't last very long. Then I started paying $9.00
a swim in a group where there was instruction, but very limited. At three
swims a week, which is a good amount of exercise, this adds up to $27.00.
When you times that by 4.3 weeks in a month, once again it costs a lot
($116.00 per month). Also, most insurances will pay for therapy when you
"first" get sick. They do not, however, usually pay on a continual basis for
an undetermined amount of time. Most gyms cost on the average about $35.00 to
$50.00 per month. If I could have been in cooler water, I would have joined
the YMCA (85 degrees). However, the cooler water makes me cramp up quickly,
and I am too cold to get any benefit from it. Maybe circumstances will be
different for you.
