Hello to all of you!

I am a beginning computer user- and a week old internet user. In just
experimenting around with it - I decided to see what would come up if I
typed in this rare condition I have had since 1985 that has left me a T5
paraplegic - low and behold there's a whole world of us out there - I
had no idea! Most people have never heard of TM let alone understand.
I feel truly blessed to have found you - I look forward to sharing my
experiences and hearing about yours, but I could write a book if I get
started - sounds like one is in the works - but for now I was just going
to ask a question. Please let me know if I'm out of line - I'm sure you
don't want this list to become an advertisement section - but I was
wondering if you all have found a good medical supply company with
reasonable prices. If so, could you please let me know the name and
address - perhaps some of you order through the internet - that would be
convenient I bet. With the incontinent and bladder/bowel function we
have we all know we have to have some medical supplies and most
companies hike the prices up unbelievable - just because it's termed
"medical." i.e., latex gloves, in mail order catalogs they run from
$11. - $15. for 100, in Walmart they are in the Band-Aid section and
labeled "general purpose" and cost around $7. per 100. Like Nora was
saying - the prices of some of the equipment and supplies is
ridiculous! Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions or ideas I'd love to
hear them.
I can't tell you how happy I am to find this group - like I said - I've
never known anyone who has ever had TM and most don't have a clue what
it involves - including doctors! I've had a few tell me, "isn't that
strange, I'll have to read up on that." My particular onset was
approximately 8 hours and I have not had much in the way of recovery,
however, I have been thankful since day one that I am not on a
ventilator, have the use of my arms and my mind stills seems to be in
tact - although some days I wonder!

Thanks for listening to me - hope to get better acquainted -
Claudia
