I was telling a friend who's done some lobbying on the Hill on natural
medicine stuff about the upcomng visit of Gunny and Phil.
She pointed out that those folks associate TM with transcendental
meditation, which they don't like. She suggested we add an extra letter or
something to distinguish our TM from the other TM. She said if you get
those folks in the wrong frame of mind, even for a silly reason like
confusing initials, you're sunk.
I'm attached to TM after using it on this list for quite some time, but I do
see her point. She suggested adding another letter, like TMS, the s being
the last letter of myelitis, or we could say it was transverse myelitis
syndrome (right use of syndrome??) to point out that this is a grouping of
illnesses that have different causations (sometimes unknown) but more or
less the same effects.
