First, welcome to this list, i'm sure you found the best place for
getting information about TM. The doctors know much less than we do,
and there's nothing like experience.
I also experienced these answers you've been given by the docs. I'm an
18 year old female quad with TM and at first i was ventilated 24 hours a
day. The docs. told my parents that old "get used to it" sentence, but
it never worked for me! Although it took time and much effort from me (i
was exercising my breathing muscles 4 times a day), i got rid of the
vent, and i can't tell you the feeling.....
The doctors were wrong this time.......
So Steven, DON'T get used to the chair. We have to have faith and
strength and continue with the struggle. You can never know... :0)
