If you go to the Transverse Myelitis Association home page, which is located
at <http://www.myelitis.org>, the initial results of the ongoing survey were
published in the October, 1997 newsletter.
To quote from the newsletter: "The majority of people (64 of 103) were
diagnosed with TM in their thirties forties and fifties. The highest number
of respondents (28) contracted TM in their forties. There were 7 children who
contracted TM under the age of 10. Seventeen of the respondents were
diagnosed with TM over the age of sixty."
