Welcome Patty. I am sorry to hear about your mother's diagnosis of TM. You
will get lots of good information from this list. One thing about TM is that
it is different from person to person. Some people on this list have been hit
hard, while some of us are considered the lucky ones. I never had paralysis,
was never hospitalized. I have had recurring numbness. The numbness for me
was gone within 2 months of my attack (last Labor Day). Then it came back
several times and went away each time. Now I have been numb since January
16th and it never leaves me completely. Sometimes I am VERY numb---other
times are better. I had bladder/bowel problems early on but it is much, much
better now. I can walk, but have problems with balance and endurance. I also
have a lot of pain/cramping in my legs and burning/freezing feet (also very
common). Give your mother my best wishes...
