Steve, Jan H here. Welcome to this group
(sorry you have to be a part) but you have
found the place for comfort and help with any
questions you may have about your condition.
I, too, was told that the 10 year use of steroid
for a skin condition had compromised my immune
system which allowed the virus from pneumonia
which I had for three weeks to leave the lungs
and attack the myelin sheath. This is a simplified
version of what I was told but I think that it fits with
what you were told. I would tell you to keep a pos-
itive attitude and continue to work toward regaining
some of your former abilities. Don't let anyone tell
you that you can't help yourself with your attitude!
