I don't know if this would help your daughter, but if you could try massage
therapy, it certainly shouldn't make things worse and could loosen her up.
I would try it before surgery if the option were open to me. I had cancer
surgery in the pelvic area last summer, and healing was slowed and
complicated by the TM.
If she has feeling in her legs, deep tissue massage therapy will be painful.
I had it initially twice a week (but wasn't in as bad a shape as your
daughter). It gets less painful as the joints get loosened up, but I still
get it every two weeks to keep from getting stiff again.
