This is Barbara here, the one with the friend, Bill, who
has tm. I have taken care of him since 1993, and he and
I wrote up a post recently entitled "stress and tm" answering
the questions for the survey, to the best of our ability.
I don't mean to sound like Monica Lewinsky, but "I stand by
my original post." Those were the correct answers.
The person doing the survey wrote me back and I am very upset
about the way he did it! Maybe he did it by mistake, but it was sent in
such
a way that it could not be properly forwarded to Bill for his opinion, it
could
not be printed out very easily, and somehow my Netscape is totally messed
up now.
But, just in case this is all a mix up, I will clarify to you all. My
friend Bill
was diagnosed with tm in 1994 at the VA Hospital. However, for quite a
lot of
years his file read "spastic spine, etiology unknown" The diagnosis,
from
my understanding, was meant to be a diagnosis of what caused him to loose
the ability to walk---which happened years before and gradually. I can
recall in
1994, the Doctor who got his file at the VA said "We have a guy here with
no
diagnosis. This is ridiculous." At that point they did a number of
tests, and it
was my opinion that they seemed to have a lot of doubts about what was
wrong with him. However, whatever this condition or disease was, it
happened
in 1985 or much earlier---not in 1994.
I thought my post that I made answering the 7 questions was done all
right.
I did not appreciate some of what the person Photo505 said! He said I
could
not be in the survey because I said something about "I hope I have all
the years right."
Or, he said I could not be in it without a positive attitude. He also
wanted to know
if the divorce stress was 1970 or 1971 too. I think that is a silly
question. The
stress started with the divorce, and probably went on for years. I'm
really upset
about getting something like that back implying that we didn't do the
survey right.
Especially since it appears that it might have messed up my computer the
way it came in some strange way so that you can't print it and it causes
all types
of weird things to happen in my Netscape.
I'm sorry about this response, but I just thought I did the post all
right, and
I wasn't trying to bother anyone--I was only trying to help. If I am
"flipping out," then
I will ask your forgiveness in advance.
This club has been such a great help to us - we have learned about
cushions,
medicines, many many things. And I was very careful to post that
correctly and
even got it sent out to everyone (I previoiusly had trouble with the
reply key)...
and then to get a smart aleck response back about did we ever go into a
cave!
And I can't forward it, to my knowledge, to anyone.
I guess I am going to have to unsubscribe to this list. I will stay
on a day or
two to see if anyone will come to my rescue, but if not, I might as well
forget
it. So many of you have been great friends to us! Thank you to those
who helped.
I will stay on here a day or two to see if I can calm down. If not, I
will be history
in this club.
