Zanaflex

Hi everyone,

I replied to the sender who asked about zanaflex and then I received other
questions, so I though I'd send this to everyone just in case it might help.

I've had TM for 12 years. I've tried various meds. I started with baclofen,
but as the dosage increased I got severe headaches. My neurologist said I was
the only patient he had with this side effect. He prescribed dantrium, but
that caused my legs to weaken even more. I was unable to even walk up the two
steps on my deck.

For the last seven months I've been taking zanaflex. So far the only side
effects I've had are dry mouth, facial flushing, and drowsiness. These I can
deal with. The spasms haven't stopped completely, but they're not as
severe.

I started with half a tablet a day for 3 days, then went to 1 a day for 3
days, then 1 1/2 daily for 3 days, then 2 tablets daily for 3 days, then 2 1/2
daily for 3 days, then 3 tablets daily (that's the dosage I'm still taking).
It kicks in about an hour or so after I take it. I can tell by the drowsiness
and the ease of the tightness in my legs. I'm going to call my neurologist
next week to see if the dosage should be increased.
