I know we all want to have some point of origin for TM, I think this would
give some closer on the question that nags me everyday HOW ? and Where did I
get this. I note the portion of Lindas mail regarding the fact that Gemma was
normal and had the normal vacines given to almost every baby. This made me
truly think that there may be a reasonal assumption vacines or the stress or
operations (injury) allow our bodies the window of opportunity for the virus
to slip through. Here is my information for your data.

I was one month into my 36th year Nov., 1995 , (dob) 10-9-60, Female, I had
been under much stress, but because of the need to maintain strength in front
of the press and public I keep up the 'never let'm see you sweat' pace for
about 5 years. I mean this was at times almost unbearable stress at times, I
had to send my daughter out of state for her protection because of politics,
and my need to finish a job for the taxpayers of our state.
I started having problems with my digestive tract and then I started with
unbeliveable head-aches in 1992. In 1993 the problem with my stomach /colon
got much worse.
In Jan. of 1995 I feel playing with my dog in the back yard one evening and
promtly got on a plane and went to NY the next morning, with in 18 hours after
the fall I felt the pain of the fall,(between my shoulder blades& and lower
portion of my hip.) I went to bed and tried to keep engagments but had to go
to bed for 24 hours. I basiclly recovered from the fall but I continued to
have problem with GI trac and this would flair up under stress it was almost a
"rictor scale"(sp) for stress in my life. I was returning from a trip and I
felt the most unbearable pain half way home. I went to the doctor the next
morning and I explained my symtoms and the doc knew the stress level I was
under soooo..shingles. I went home with medications and by the night fall I
had started my desent into hell. I lost the feeling in my feet and it moved up
my legs yet I still had pain deep in my flesh. With in 48 hours I was full
blown and could not walk, at this time I was already in the hospital on
moriphen. The MRI was given and I was already so frighteneds I could barely
stand laying on the MRI table. The Doctor doing the MRI found the portion of
my spinal cord with the damage at T-10, they then did the brain scan there
was no damage(white matter). After 3 neuros and much panic and pain my doc
decided on a swift plan of action IV sterroids and pain management. I have
remained on a mixture of spinal shots and pain medication including PT, water
PT, and a strong dose of FAITH in God. I have gone from paralysied to walking
with out a cane and back to work in this time. In the middle of all of this
in Jan of 1997 I had a complete histo after all of my organs fell or drop
because of the ligament that sustained them weekened and gave way. They
reconstructed my entire abdominal floor and reattached my organs. I am
grateful for the recovery I have had and truly am thankful for this list and
the support they have given.

horrible illness.

I recieved a call from one of the helpful inquirers for some one else with TM
who had no access to the internet. The mother called and has a teenager with
TM, they only live 11 miles from me. Please say a prayer for this 15 year old
ballet dancer and her family. I will keep an update to the mother for the TM
victim, If any one can give encouragement from a basis of the teen years and
TM please let me know and I will pass them along to this family.
