On additional factor to consider is frequently allowing your blood to freely
flow to the areas of the buttocks by changing your positions as often as
possible. You can do this as Davej says, or if you can lift yourself up by
your arms while in the chair, do that every fifteen minutes or so for as long
as you can. If the redness becomes a rash, I use Lotrosone Cream, which is an
antibiotic and cortisone, Rx.

Also, if this persists, do have your seating arraignment evaluated by a PT or
OT, using their computer assisted seating analyzer to check for HOT Spots.
They may recommend another type of seat cushion, or adjust the one you are
using with pads strategically placed.

I try to change my position every time I think about it. Don't want those
smelly sores, or lengthy stays in the hospital. You are right to be so
concerned.
