Just a note -
I was given Imitrex in the hospital when I was first diagnosed with TM.
I had , and still do have headaches everyday. They gave it to me in
injection form. I immediately had a reaction. I felt extremely dizzy and
nauseated. I felt like someone had "slipped me a Mickey". I felt like I
was going to pass out, and like someone was twirling me in circles really
fast. They said I had such a strong reaction because I have High blood
pressure to begin with. I am also medicated for it. My neuro at the time
disregarded my blood pressure . Believe me, he paid for it later.
So the moral of the story is know what you are taking, know what you are
on, and always pay attention to the contraindications.
