I've had a similar situation with numbness in my feet and hands decreasing and
then increasing, which put me in a near-panic at first, thinking I was having
another attack or a stroke or something. I've had TM for over two years now,
and the numbness tends to do that periodically for me. I know cold, fatigue,
illness, stress all tend to affect it, but sometimes it seems to happen "out
of the blue." I haven't found any real satisfactory answers except that when
nerves are affected or damaged they then send out strange signals that can
result in odd symptoms. My neurologist seems to think this is "normal" TM and
does offer different types of medication to try (although he did say there is
not a medicine that will bring feeling back to numb areas), but I don't like
to take medicines unless I just can't by without them. My primary care
physician indicated that he would be more concerned about loss of function
than loss of sensation.
Don't know if that's of any help!! It's one of the frustrations of TM...
