Welcome to our rather exclusive club. (ha, ha....) My experience with TM
started on this past Labor Day Weekend. Over the period of a day I became
numb from my mid back to my toes on the left side. I could barely walk.
But--at least I could walk, unlike many other TMers. I was never paralyzed,
or hospitalized. My primary care doctor didn't seem to believe it--it said it
must be a pinched nerve and told me to wait a week before he would even see
me! The numbness went away by October. Then returned in November for 2 days.
After that I have had recurring spells of numbness in the original areas plus
the other leg. Each time the numbness came back it would only last a few
hours to no more than two days. Then, I got numb all over several weeks ago.
My face, neck, back, shoulders, hands, legs. As usual, my abdomen was the
most numb of all. At this time I am still numb in my abdomen, upper thighs,
arms, part of my hands and legs/feet. But, it is getting less numb as each
day wears on. My neurologist says I may have MS....we will see what happens
down the road. I just started taking Klonopin for my leg pains and problems
walking on waking. It is helping. I am sleeping much, much better.
Anyway, that is my story (at least a condensed version). By the way, I am 46
years old. I wish you all the best!
