RJBennet, Jan H. here. I cant' speak
for all but I think that the pain and burning
is a step towards normal, at least I have
continued improvement in my functions--
don't expect to ever be "back to normal"
(whatever that is) but to return to functional
level is more likely.

I don't take anything stronger than Tylenol ex-
strength for the pain and I get along pretty well.
I'm afraid to take too much as don't know
what's down the road(what I might need later.
Also, fear that pain killer might work against
what functions I have regained.

I've explained this to others before, but this is
how I know that the outer part of legs are still
"numb". Our water source is a deep well with
very cold water. I can shower and wash my body
from the waist down before I can tolerate the water
temperature on my upper body, arms etc. At the
same time, I can "feel" the pressure of the water
drops on my legs.

Isn't this the weirdest disease you ever heard of?!?
I've learned more about the body in the last 22 months
than I knew in the other 56 years!!!

Hope this helps. I'm sure others can explain their
feelings better.

One thing I didn't mention, the fatigue factor is probably
the one thing that I can't seem to master (or ignore). If
I didn't know that I had TM, I would think that old age had
hit and was worse than I expected! (LOL)
