recurrence,healing or MS

I recently had another attack. It was at the site of my original attack
t6. My neurologist immediately put me back on steroids by iv. You
never know if its the steroids or your natural healing that solves the
problem but I began better a few days to a week latter. My numbness now
had reached up to level my lesion. On the last day of the solu-medrol
iv my neurologist examined me and noticed that my right leg was much
weaker than my left. We then did a spinal tap and a MRI. The spinal
fluid was much clearer, they had always showed the bands and the MRI was
clear of any lesions. But one leg being weaker than the other is a
symptom of MS. My neurologist wants to start me on avonex (which is an
immune therapy used by MS patients to delay their attacks) and see a MS
specialist. My doctor can't call my illness MS yet but he sure is
leaning that way. Worst of all he said that my MS would be chronic-
progressive. I would like to hear any ones thoughts about this.
Thanks,
Steve
