I began noticing symptoms Sept. 10 (numbness throughout body, nausea, tight
feeling under breasts,
feeling hot and cold). I was in bed for 8 weeks, couldn't eat, had
digestive problems and alot of
heaviness in chest. I did not experience paralysis or bladder or bowel
problems. I was told that
I had a post-viral infection and then went for a second opinion at Mayo.
The diagnosis there
was Acute Transverse Myelitis. A mild tranquilizer was prescribed and I
was sent home. I
thought I was beginning to get better as time went on. Now it has been 15
weeks and I
have continued to experience extreme pain throughout my body from time to
time. My second MRI showed that the inflamation at the C2 site is almost
gone. However, I am still in pain. The past 2 days my body has felt
like it was on fire. Today I'm a little better.
Has anyone else had this type of experience with TM? Are there medications
available for the pain?
What do I have to look forward to?
Please Help!!!
