My friend has TM. She needs help!

Nancy has been diagnosed by Mayo Clinic as having Transverse Myelitis.
Starting Sept 10, '97 she spent 8 weeks in bed. She is able to get around
now, but is in pain 24 hours a day. She says her skin feels like she has
"rug burn" all over her body. She never suffered paralysis, however, she
has felt much numbness over a large portion of her body.

Her questions:

Is there hope to get over this illness?

Is this burning sensation a good sign?

Will there be an end to the constant pain?

Where can she get more info? (She is not on-line.)

Nancy has been suffering through this trauma for 15 weeks now. Has anyone
out there been through this who can give her advice and comfort? She is
married, with 3 children.
