I am writing this letter on behalf of my brother. He is a family man with two
young children and a wife. He lives an honorable life and has had a good job
for years. But his quality of life, along with his health is being destroyed.
I have been watching his health over the past couple of years diminish quite
rapidly. It is to say the least very sad what has happened to him. He has
been seen by many doctors to no avail. They see his symptoms as mysterious
and elusive.
My brother works with children, therefore was told that he should have a HepB
vaccination, which he did. Shortly after that, my brother had to be
hospitalized due to some severe neurological symptoms. The doctors did not
have a clue as to what was wrong with him and the vaccination was never even
brought up. After a period of time, my brother was able to return to work.
And after more time passed, he took a second HepB vaccination. Once again, he
had to be hospitalized with severe neurological problems. The doctors did not
have a clue and diagnosed him with M.S. Yet his symptoms still did not fit, so
he continued to search for answers. Then he found a doctor who diagnosed him
with Transverse Myelitis. Although I am not clear on the exact time frame and
privy to all of the details, I understand that this doctor also told my
brother that his condition was more than likely the result of a severe
reaction to the HepB shots. This brings me to the purpose of my letter.
My brother lives in Cleveland, Ohio and is in dire need of qualified medical
attention. Even though his current doctors may have good intentions they are
practicing reactionary medicine and only treating the symptoms. It does not
appear that they are looking for a definitive cause or way of stopping this
for my brother. We would like to know of any good doctors for my brother to
see. There are many aspects of his condition that are not being addressed.
Aside from the obvious physical problems he is having, it would be nice for
him to have some type of counseling to help him deal with this severely
disabling condition. As I write this letter to you today, he is one week into
a severe attack. This has caused him to be sent to the emergency room, have a
catheter inserted due to bladder shut down and he is now having steroid
injections. This good man is slowly losing his will to fight this, he is in
need of a treatment program that can address all aspects of his condition.
Until hearing the stories of others who had the same type of reactions to Hep.
B shot, it seemed that my brother was the only one on this planet with this
condition.
Please, if you can, put us in contact with a group or a doctor that is current
on all of the research into this condition. If you have any other information
that could be helpful to him please let us know. We are desperately seeking
answers! Thank you.
