Renee B. and Paul S.,

Hi, Jan H. here. For the first time in weeks, I cried when I read your
messages
(about itching) today. I, too, have the itching but I thought that it was
the excema sp? that I have had for years just acting up. I have been thinking
about calling my
dermatologist and going to the City to see her but since you wrote, I will
wait and
talk with my internist next Tues. Through the years, I have had the
Kenalog 40
shots while I was still working and they did help..they usually last about 6
weeks.
The course that I was usually on was Prednisone but I now refuse that if at
all
possible as I have so many side affects from it and also I don't want another
steroid
treatment for my skin as I would need it if TM relapse should occur. What a
mess
this TM is!! I'm now 19 months and counting. I try not to complain or let
it get me
down but somehow youall hit a nerve this a.m.

Let me give you the name of two lotions that I have used over the years that
help with the dry, itching skin. The first is readily available at Walmart
or drugstore:
Eucerin original in the creme. The lotion feels great but I go through it
like it is water
while the creme is best put on and spread over body right after bathing while
skin is
still damp and it lasts long time. The second I usually have to ask to be
ordered unless I am in the City at big chain drugstore and it is rather
expensive but feels
real good and easy to apply especially after bathing: Theraplex (emollient)
- it comes in three (levels) and the emollient is best for itching.

Hope that this gives you some relief--Know that itching is always worse in
the winter
when we are in dry heat of heating system and also wrapped in so many more
clothes due to cold temps.

I feel better now after visiting with you and hope that you find your "itch"
better soon.
