My last MRI 2 years ago showed syrinx forming. Appearently syrinx (a cyst
on the spinal cord) happens with many spinal cord injuries. My neuologist
said he would prefer not to do anything unless I felt the symtoms were
getting worst. Some symtoms are Back pain; headaches; stiffness, weakness
or pain in the back, shoulders, arms or
legs; loss of the ability to feel extremes of hot or cold, especially in
the hands.

You can find out more about syringomyelia at <http://www.syringo.org/>.
