Mary - I eat alot of citrus - trust me (she says as she sniffles) its
not enough to keep from getting a cold or the flu. Also - though I did
have some achiness/headache after my flu shot, it is nothing compared to
a full blown case of the flu. After my shot, I noticed that the
numbness/tingling in my extremeties was worse for a few days, but then
everything settled down. Since I developed a very severe disease as an
after effect of the flu many years ago (enchaphalitis), I do not want to
get a severe case of it again. Also, my immune system seems to be
pretty well screwed up, and when I don't get a flu shot, I get at least
one really bad case of the flu each winter. Everyone is different. Our
immune systems are different. Our decisions are different.
