Re: TM in vaccinations

I agree with your position on this issue. I was diagnosed with TM and
although it was not a flu shot that caused my illness, it was a Tetanus
vaccination. I, too, was a very healthy person prior to my diagnosis. I
don't think anyone is promoting "mass hysteria," by informing others of the
linkage between vaccinations and TM. I think it's just good to be educated
on the issue. Even after all I've been through with TM, I'd have made the
same decision to get a Tetanus vaccination if I had it to do all over
again.

Jeff,

There are several medical articles that discuss the possible correlation
between vaccinations and TM. You are correct when you write the chances
of
being diagnosed w/ TM following a flu-vaccine are very slim. However,
given
the existing evidence as offered on this list, several medical journals &
articles and personal discussions w/ neurologists I am CONVINCED that the
flu-vaccine was the main contributor to my TM diagnosis. Although I do
beieve there must be certain other pre-existing contributors, such as a
genetic pre-disposition or stress, there is strong evidence that the
flu-shot
is responsible. That you disagree, and have not had any unfourtunate
luck w/
flu-vaccinations is great and given your situation I hope you never
experience any future difficulties in any aspect of your health.
However,
that I feel the flu vaccine contributd to my current situation, given all
that I know and have experienced hardly makes me HYSTERICAL or a
contributor
to "mass-hysteria"! Up to the time I was vaccinated w/ the flu-vaccine,
other than sports injuries, I enjoyed excellent health and outstanding
physical fitness. One week later I was in ICU. To me the pieces fit.
And,
my nerologist(s) feel the same and have given me the medical advice to
avoid
vaccinations. Although the final discission is personal, I have chosen
to
accept the advice.
